“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.” (Galatians 6:7-8)
We all stand to be judged by God. There are positive or negative consequences to every action, word and thought. My purpose today is to remind us to be careful of how we conduct our lives. God has given us instructions in His Word about how to engage with God and with others. We are to take heed of these instructions and live accordingly. If not, we are at risk of being forever separated from the presence of God. The Bible verses below confirm that we will all be judged by the Most High Father: “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.” (Revelation 20:11-13)
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2 Corinthians 5:10)
“But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment.” (Matthew 12:36)
“For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.” (Ecclesiastes 12:14)
“This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.” John 3:19)
“But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.” (2 Peter 3:7)
Everyone has the opportunity to spend eternity in the Kingdom of God. Through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross at Calvary, forgiveness of sin is available to all of us. God judges all to determine who is worthy to enter into His Kingdom. Those who are allowed to enter in must be cleansed from sin. That means they have repented of their sin; they have accepted Jesus into their lives and have decided to turn away from sin. After making that decision, their lives reflect their resolve to no longer live in sin but according to the commandments of God. The alternative to this path is the second death, eternal damnation, an eternity away from God in hell. Therefore, let us all accept the gift of life freely given to us by Jesus, our Lord and Saviour.
My Prayer
Father Ahayah, thank you that You are warning us in Your Word that we will be judged for all we have done when our time in our earthly bodies here on earth comes to an end. Father, we desire to spend eternity with you in Your Kingdom and in Your presence. Thank you, Jesus that You died in our place on the cross. Father, please forgive us our sins, and instruct us and teach us Your way.
Father, I pray for everyone coming to read this post that You will find them worthy of their calling and fulfil every desire for goodness and the work of faith with power, so that the name of our Lord Jesus be glorified in them, and them in Him, according to the grace of You, our God, and the Lord Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 1:11-12). Aman.
