We serve a Covenant Keeping God. He is faithful and His steadfast love endures forever. In the scripture below we read what we should do to remain faithful to Him and pay our vows of the Covenant. Alongside each verse I have provided my interpretation in brackets.
JOB 22:21-30 (New King James Version)
21 “Now acquaint yourself with Him, and be at peace; Thereby good will come to you. (Get to know God and His commandments by reading the Bible. Then you will have peace and goodness in your life.)
22 Receive, please, instruction from His mouth, and lay up His words in your heart. (Accept God’s instructions and live by them.)
23 If you return to the Almighty, you will be built up; You will remove iniquity far from your tents. (If you live according to God’s commandments, you will be strengthened, and sin will be removed from your house.)
24 Then you will lay your gold in the dust, And the gold of Ophir among the stones of the brooks. (Do not store up gold and riches in this life.)
25 Yes, the Almighty will be your gold and your precious silver. (Let God Almighty be your treasure, your gold and silver.)
27 You will make your prayer to Him, He will hear you, and you will pay your vows. (If you do all this and pray, He will hear you and you will do your end of the covenant.)
28 You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you; So light will shine on your ways. (When you are in covenant with God, then what you declare will happen. The Father’s light will be seen upon your life.)
29 When they cast you down, and you say, ‘Exaltation will come!’ Then He will save the humble person. (The humble person will be saved but the proud person will be brought low.)
30 He will even deliver one who is not innocent; Yes, he will be delivered by the purity of your hands.” (God will deliver those you intercede for because of you being pure and in right standing with God.)
MY PRAYER
Father AhaYah thank you that You are a Covenant keeping God. Thank you that your faithfulness and loving kindness endure forever. Thank you for Your Covenant and for the blessings that come from living in covenant with You. Please forgive us for the many ways we have knowingly and unknowingly lived in opposition to Your covenant. Father, in Your mercy, please guide us to come back into covenant with You. Please instruct us and teach us Your ways. Please counsel us with Your eye upon us. We ask in the name of our Saviour and Redeemer, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Aman.
