Today, Jesus is inviting all of us to come to His table and to dine with Him.
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20).
Please read 1 Samuel 9 and 10 where Samuel anointed Saul as prince over the tribes of Israel. “Samuel answered Saul: ‘I am the seer, go up before me to the high place, for today you shall eat with me, and in the morning, I will let you go and tell you all that is on your mind.’" (1Sam 9:19)
Jesus is calling all of us to the mountain. Going up the mountain requires us to lay down all the burdens that are holding us down and all sin and entanglement in this world which hinder us in deepening our relationship with Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Our sins are all those things we do that do not line up with God’s commandments, including lying, sexual sin, pride, hate, anger, unforgiveness, a vicious and uncontrolled tongue, selfishness, and the likes. Also, sin of unbelief, lack of faith, not putting God first, but serving other gods of work and entertainment, seeking fame and fortune, looking to man to protect and provide for us instead of looking to God. We go up the mountain when we acknowledge our sin and remorsefully repent and invite Jesus to wash us with His precious blood.
"So the cook took up the leg and the upper portion and set them before Saul; and Samuel said, ‘See, what was kept is set before you. Eat; because it was kept for you until the hour APPOINTED, that you may eat with the guests’”. (1Sam. 9:24)
Dining with Jesus means that we make time for him every day. We put him first by reading His word, worshipping and praising Him, praying and sitting quietly at His feet. He should be our number one priority every day. When we do this, we find that He will serve us the best portion. He will serve us with the manna reserved for us for this appointed hour. We are at the time of the end of this age when satan is unleashing his dark plans to annihilate all that is from God. The Word warns us that there will be pestilence, famine, earthquakes and war (Matthew 24:6-7; Revelation 6:7-8). We have already experienced the worldwide pestilence and more is to come. This manna that Jesus is serving us at His table now is what we need to prepare us, strengthen us and sustain us through this turbulent time so that we will not fall into the traps satan has set for us.
We should not underestimate the plans of our God for us and the power of His Spirit working within us. In 1 Samuel 10 verse 6 we read that God changed Saul into another man and in verse 9 that God gave him another heart. God has the power to transform us for the purposes He has for us. All that He is asking from us is our willingness to come and dine with him.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
The invitation is open today for all of us. Let us act today and come as we are. Tomorrow is not promised to anyone. Let us repent of all our sin today so that we can make our progression up the mountain to dine with our King. Hallelujah!
My Prayer
Holy YahshaYah, thank you that you are calling all of us to your table today. Thank you for your love for us. Please forgive us for not making more time for you in our lives. Father, we long to sit at your table and to dine with You. Please help us to overcome the distractions and obstacles hindering us from making You first in our lives. Thank you, Father, that You are eternally loving and long suffering.
Father, I pray for all who will be reading this post. Please make them ready to say to You: “Father, here I am, sent me.” In Jesus name I pray, Aman.
