My Truth: One day we will all stand individually before the judgement seat of God to give account for our lives.
- “But the Lord abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment, And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.” (Ps.9:7-8)
- “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” (2Cor.5:10).
- “Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.” (Rev.20:11-13).
Knowing that we will be judged one day on how we live our lives, let us remember the great commandment and align our lives according to it. “Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbour as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matt.22:37-40).
God will judge us in righteousness, and as such, we will all reap what we sow. “Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.” (Gal.6:7-8). Let us therefore consider how we spend our time and our resources, and how we use our talents and our tongues. At the end, it all comes down to love. “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.” (John 13:34).
I would like to conclude this series on “Truth” with the beautiful and poetic scripture on “Love”. • If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. • If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. • If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. • Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. • Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.” (1Cor.1-8).
My Prayer
Father AhaYah, Thank you for teaching us Your truth. Father, Please show us thy ways, O LORD; teach us thy paths. Lead us in thy truth, and teach us: for thou art the God of our salvation; on thee do we wait all the day (Ps.25:4-5). We pray in the mighty name of Holy YahshaYah. Aman.
