Over the last we days a number of Messengers of Yah have shared their instruction from the Father to blow the shofar. I have been taken to scriptures calling for the blowing of the trumpet in Psalm 81 and Jeremiah 4 when randomly opened my Bible the last two days. This has led me to reflect on what the Most High Father is telling us with this messages of blowing the shofar or the trumpet.

The shofar is used to gather the people, during the appointed feasts, at the anointing of a new kings and during war as explained in the verses below:

The Lord spoke further to Moses, saying, “Make yourself two trumpets of silver, of hammered work you shall make them; and you shall use them for summoning the congregation and for having the camps set out. (Numbers 10:1-2).

Blow the trumpet at the new moon, At the full moon, on our feast day. For it is a statute for Israel, An ordinance of the God of Jacob. (Psalm 81:3-4).

Zadok the priest then took the horn of oil from the tent and anointed Solomon. Then they blew the trumpet, and all the people said, “Long live King Solomon!” (1 Kings 1:39).

The purpose of blowing the trumpet was also to warn the people of imminent danger: This is the instruction Yah gave to Ezekiel: “And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Son of man, speak to the sons of your people and say to them, ‘If I bring a sword upon a land, and the people of the land take one man from among them and make him their watchman, and he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows on the trumpet and warns the people, then he who hears the sound of the trumpet and does not take warning, and a sword comes and takes him away, his blood will be on his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet but did not take warning; his blood will be on himself. But had he taken warning, he would have delivered his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet and the people are not warned, and a sword comes and takes a person from them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require from the watchman’s hand.’ (Ezekiel 33:1-6).

I believe the message that should accompany the blowing of the trumpet today is the words from Jesus in Matthew 4:17 – “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

When we look at the world events around us we see our adversary working across the nations to establish his control over all the earth. As this age draws to a close and we await the return of Jesus, we expect the events described by Jesus in Matthew 24 to unfold and the seals of the Book of Revelation (Chapter 6) to be opened.

The message is therefore for everyone to take heed of the times and the events unfolding around us. These events will culminate in much hardship, bloodshed and death. Our preparation for what is to come is to ensure that we are covered by the Blood of the Lamb. It is only when we make the Most High Father our fortress and our dwelling place that we will have protection during the storms coming upon the earth. This requires that we repent of our sin and seek the help of Holy Spirit to help us turn away from sin. Let us once more consider our lives and while there is still time, reflect on where we stand with Jesus. We have to die to self and the lusts of the flesh. We should not allow pride to prevent us from humbling ourselves before the Most High Father. Let us therefore acknowledge our weakness to overcome the lust of the flesh (pride, envy, jealousy, greed, sexual sin, gluttony and slothfulness) and invite Holy Spirit to help us.

My Prayer

Father Ahayah, thank you that You are warning us through Your Word and through Your Messengers that danger is upon us. Father today we come to seek shelter under Your wings and to repent of all our sins.

Father, please forgive us our rebellion and for putting other gods before You. Father, today I repent for being back slidden and for not maintaining my prayer life as I once did. Forgive me for not teaching about and proclaiming Your good news of salvation to the lost and those who are broken through the hardships of life and who have lost hope as a result. Forgive me for not loving others as You have instructed us to do and for judging others. Father, please forgive me. Please wash me again with Your blood. Thank you Father that You are merciful and that Your Word assures us that You will not turn away anyone who calls upon You.

Father I pray for each person reading this message. Please grant them understanding of Your love for them and that You have died also for their sin. Please convict them of their sin and lead them to repentance. Holy Spirit, please would You come alongside each one and help them to turn their lives around. I pray all this in the name of our Redeemer and Saviour, YahshaYah HaMasiach. Aman.
