“Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee” (Isa.26:3).

Today I am continuing to provide guidance for parents from scriptures. This is what the Word says about our Children:

  • “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations” (Jer.1:5)
  • “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth” (3 John 1:4).
  • “Jesus said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these’” (Matt.19:14).

These scriptures show us that the Most High Father loves our children and that He has their best interest at heart. For Him nothing is impossible. Let us therefore entrust them into His care. However, the Word shows us that we as parents also have a responsibility to raise our children in the Fear of the Lord. This is the guidance from the Word for us:

  • “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” (Deut.6:6-7).
  • “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding” (Prov.9:10).
  • “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it” (Pro.22:6).
  • “Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger by the way you treat them. Rather, bring them up with the discipline and instruction that comes from the Lord.” (Eph.6:4).

My Prayer

Father AhaYah, thank you that our children are special to You. Thank you that we can with confidence entrust them into Your hands, knowing that like ourselves, they are fearfully and wonderfully made by You and that You have a special purpose and plan for each one of them. Father, please instruct them and teach them Your ways. Please council them with Your eye upon them. Please keep them protected under Your wing and be their refuge and fortress against the storms of life. Father, we understand that as parents we also have a duty and responsibility to our children. Please grant us wisdom to guide them through this time of great darkness upon the earth. Please give us the courage to steer them away from dangers that they may not be aware of. I pray in the mighty name of YahshaYah, our Messiah. Aman.
