“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost” (Luke 19:10).

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John14:6).

“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16).

We conclude our Prayers of Lament today by crying out to the Most High Father for the lost.

My Prayer

Father AhaYah, we come before you to cry out for the multitudes that are lost. Father Your Words states that wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it (Matt.7:13). Father, the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of You, our God (2 Cor.4:4).

Father AhaYah, amongst those that find themselves on the path that leads to destruction are also many of our loved ones and friends. Many of them are leading lives in total disrespect and disregard of You our Creator and Redeemer. They have embraced this kingdom ruled by satan and refuse to see the truth. Many believe that one can lead a life which ever way one chooses as long as there is consent and nobody is hurt. Father, this is a lie from the pit of hell. Father, many walk like the gentiles described in Your Word: “in the futility of their mind, being darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart; and they, having become callous, have given themselves over to sensuality for the practice of every kind of impurity with greediness” (Eph.4:17-19). Your word also states that the deeds of the flesh are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, and that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God” (Gal.19-21).

Father we cry out to You for Your mercy on the lost today knowing that Your wrath is against all ungodliness and unrighteousness. Thank you that Your eternal power and divine nature is visible in all that is made. Father, please forgive them for not honouring You and giving thanks to You for all your blessings. As Your Word states they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened; claiming to be wise, they became fools” (Rom.1:18-23).

Father, we are grieved that the multitudes have strayed from Your ways and live in rebellion and sin, and that without Your help will end up in eternal damnation. But Father, we intercede today for our loved ones and all who are lost with our hope set alight by the wonderful promises in Your Word. Father we read that You do not desire any one to perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Pet.3:9). We also know that You are the Good Shepherd that leave the 99 sheep to save the one that is lost. (Luke 15:4) and when we confess our sins that You are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1John 1:9).

Father, please draw their spirits to You, please convict them of their sins. Please send more harvest workers into the field to share to them about Your love and grace and that their repentance opens the door to wholeness and eternal life. Do for them and all of us as promised in Ezekiel:

“I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak” (Eze. 34:16).

“I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules” (Eze.36:25-27).

We thank you Father, we worship You and we praise You. Thank you that Your steadfast love never ceases, that Your mercies never come to an end and that they are new every morning (Lam.3:22-23). Hallelujah.

We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Messiah. Aman.
