God has great plans for our future. God gave man dominion over all the earth (Gen.1:26-31). However, due to the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, their dominion over the earth was lost and taken over by satan. It is God's plan to restore all that was lost to us.
As part of this restoration, God intends for us is to rule and reign with Christ. Here are scriptures that confirm this:
- "Heaven must receive him (Jesus) until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets" (Acts 3:21).
- "Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him" (Dan.7:27).
- "For You were slain and have redeemed us to God by Your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation and have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth" (Rev.5:9-10).
- "But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" (1Pet.2:9).
- If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us." (2Tim2:12).
- "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints? Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?" (1Cor.6:1-3).
Brothers and Sisters with this prospect of ruling and reigning with Christ, take heed of this advice: "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever" (1John 2:15-17). Let us therefore seek the will of the Father for our lives and live according to it.
My Prayer
Father AhaYah, we rejoice in the wonderful plans you have for us. Today we pray as our Master taught us: Hallowed be Thy name; Thy Kingdom come; Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven (Matt.6:9-13). Father, please forgive us for allowing ourselves to become entangled with the things of this world and for giving in so easily to the lusts of our flesh. Please help us to set our minds on things above, not on things on the earth (Col.3:2) so that we can be found worthy to rule and reign with our Master and Saviour, Holy YashaYah. Aman.
