It is the Father's plan to restore to us all that the enemy has stolen from us. This is what Father says: "I will restore to you the years which the swarming locusts have eaten, the hopper, the destroyer and the cutter, my great army which I sent among you" (Joel 2:25).

Jesus understands the challenges we are facing in this life. To those who came to listen to His teachings during his walk on earth, Jesus promised wonderful blessings. His promises to them also stand for us today.

He said, as recorded in Matthew Chapter 5:

  1. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  2. Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted.
  3. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
  4. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
  5. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
  6. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
  7. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
  8. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
  9. "Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.
  10. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.

This teaching gives us a good understanding of the attributes we must embrace as followers of Jesus. We are to serve the Most High Father with a pure heart and live in righteousness while staying humble and lowly. We are to be peacemakers and graciously endure persecutions and insults for His name sake. We should remember to rejoice in the goodness of our God even when we suffer loss or disappointment.

Therefore, let us take courage today and endure while remaining faithful to the commandments to love God and neighbour (Matt. 22:37-39). The Word assures us: "Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning" (Ps.30:5).

My Prayer

Father AhaYah, thank you that You know the challenges we are experiencing in this life. Thank you for Your comforting promises and for your plans for us. Please grant us the strength to endure every day and to remain focused on what You have taught us. Father, it is with great anticipation and joy that we wait and watch for the return of Jesus, our King. May His return be soon. Aman.
