Lately Father has been showing me scriptures about famine. I also had a dream recently in which I wanted to buy bread. The price of a collection of different bread on the shop counter was £37, however I decided to buy one loaf of bread for £10.
I was led to read the scriptures on the respective pages 37 and 10 in my Bible. To my surprise both pages dealt with famine. Page 37 tells about Joseph's interpretation of Pharoah's dream of the 7 fat and 7 thin cows and 7 ears of wheat growing on one stalk full and good and 7 ears withered, thin and blighted (Gen.41:25-36); while page 10 told the story of Abraham's journey to Egypt due to the severe famine in the land (Gen.12:10).
As I am writing this, I am reminded of Joseph's words to Pharoah: "And the doubling of Pharoah's dream mean that the thing is fixed by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass" (Gen.41:32). Could this also apply to these two separate stories of famine Father is pointing me to?
The confirmations of famine did not stop with these two readings. Day after day I continued to come upon scriptures relating to famine. Here are some of them. "The seed shrivels under the clods, the storehouses are desolate, the granaries are ruined because the grain has failed" (Joel 1:17). This morning I opened my Bible at Ezekiel 4 and 5. In these two chapters Father AHAYAH explains that the reason for His judgements on Jerusalem [ "When I loose against you my deadly arrows of famine, arrows for destruction" (Eze.5:16)] is because they have not walked in His statutes or kept His ordinances but have acted according to the ordinances of the nations around them.
Modern-day prophets have for some time now been warning us of famine. As we know a shortage of food can arise from a number of events including too much or too little rain, hail and locust plagues, and also from volcanic eruptions, economic collapse and war. In Matthew 24 YashaYah gave us this indication of what to expect in the end times: "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places; all this is but the beginning of sorrows" (Matt.24:7-8).
Before we become too overwhelmed with these prophecies of hardships to come, I would like you to remind you that we serve a God who has a track record of looking after those who call upon him. God fed the Israelites with manna for 40 years in the wilderness. When famine set in after Elijah had declared there to be no rain except by his word, this is what Father promised a desperate women He had appointed to feed Elijah: "For thus says the Lord the God of Israel, 'The jar of meal shall not be spent, and the cruse of oil shall not fail, until the day that the Lord sends rain upon the earth'" (1Kings 17:14). We also know how YashaYah fed the 5000 men, their wives and children from 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish (Matt.14:15-21) and 4000 men, their wives and children from 7 loaves and a few small fish (Matt.15:32-39).
Brothers and Sisters, as we await these events to unfold, let us build our faith in the Him who has created us and who sustains us from day to day. For Father AHAYAH nothing is impossible. He can provide for us in the most dire circumstances. Are you ready to put your faith in Him to provide for you and your family when there is no food to give them? If so, then call upon Him today. Repent of your sin and embrace His commandments. He loves you and will welcome you with open arms.
My Prayer
Father AHAYAH, today we repent for having strayed away from Your commandments. Father we live in a world operating in opposition to Your commandments. Please forgive us for allowing our pride, vanity, laziness and the desires of our flesh to accept the false promises of the systems of this world. Father, we no longer want to live in rebellion to You. Please instruct us and teach us Your ways and help us to break free from the bondage of this world. We pray in the name of YashaYah, through whose blood there is redemption for all of us. Aman.
