We hear many warnings from modern-day prophets of major events of destruction of earthquakes, asteroids, tsunamis and war and those I have reconfirmed in previous posts of famine and three days of darkness. Yet, regardless of the urgency with which events are proclaimed they have not come to pass. Is this not evidence that these prophecies are not from God?
Before we dismiss these prophecies as just scare-mongering, I would like to share some insight from the word. I am sure we are all familiar with these verses: One day to the Lord is like a thousand years (2Pet.3:8); also, God's words will not return to Him void (Isa.55:11). The Word also states, "The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance" (2Pet.3:9). We serve a merciful God who warns us when we have gone astray and calls us back to him. Father AHAYAH is patient with us and long-suffering, but the Word warns that His Spirit shall not always strive with man forever (Gen.6:3). If we do not heed the teachings from His Word and from those He sends to us; if we continue in our ways, remain blinded by the illusions of vanity, pleasure and freedoms of this world and rely on its false promises, He will send his judgements spoken through His prophets.
Through this message I would like to bring reassurance that even during judgements He is calling to us and waiting to welcome us back. This is the Word of God: "'I gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to me', says the Lord, 'And I also withheld the rain from you when there were yet three months to the harvest; I would send rain upon one city and send no rain upon another city; one field would be rained upon, and the field upon which it did not rain withered; so two or three cities wandered to one city to drink water, and were not satisfied, yet you did not return to me,' says the Lord…..'I send among you pestilence after the manner of Egypt….. yet you did not return to me,' says the Lord" (Amos 4:6-10). From this we see that God allows us to suffer hardships with the intention that we would call out to Him in our afflictions.
It is not God's aim that anyone should perish. We should therefore interpret the warnings spoken through the prophets as a report card that reads: "Improvements Required". We should understand from it that our lives are not according to His commandments. Prophecies of doom and gloom should stir us to read the Word, to get to know His commandments, to evaluate our lives and to repent and make the corrections that are necessary. Let us go before the Father and enquire whether there is any sin within our lives that we may be blinded to that we must repent of and lay down. He has graciously given us the Holy Spirit to guide and teach us. Brothers and Sisters, let us come before the Father today. No one is promised tomorrow. Repent, for today is the day of salvation. Hallelujah!!!
My Prayer
Father AHAYAH, thank you that You continue to call us back to You. Thank you for speaking to us through men and women in our days who often bring messages to us that are hard to hear. Please teach us the wisdom to hear Your voice calling to us from behind these messages of warning. Father, please forgive us and through the working of Your Holy Spirit, please help us to come in right standing with You. We pray in the name of the Lamb who redeemed us from sin and death, YashaYah, our Messiah. Aman.
