Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am you God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isa.41:10)

In closing this topic on 'Knowing our enemy' I would like to reflect on how we access God's promises of protection, like this one above.

  1. We must abide in God and walk in obedience to His commandments. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you….If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father's commandments and abide in His love" (John 15:7-10).

  2. We must acknowledge our dependence on Him and seek His face in prayer. "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears; He delivers them from all their troubles" (Ps.34:17). "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty" (Ps.91.1).

  3. Through faith - We must believe in God and His power to save us. "Who is it that overcomes the world but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God" (1John5:5). "Through You we will push back our adversaries, through Your name we will trample down those who rise up against us" (Ps.44-5).

  4. Know the weapons available to us. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives unto death" (Rev.12:11). "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2Tim1:7). "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness'" (Cor.12:9). "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven" (Matt.18:18-19).

My Prayer

Father Yahuah, thank you that You have not left us defenceless against satan, our adversary. Thank you for covering us with Your feathers, and for giving us protection under Your wings. Thank you that we know that you will keep us safe from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. Father, please forgive us for not always walking in obedience to Your commandments. Please continue to instruct us and teach us Your ways. We pray in Jesus' name. Aman.
