Today I am reflecting on just 5 attributes of God. God is holy, faithful and powerful. God loves us, but He is also our judge.
God is Holy: Exodus 15:11 - "Who is like You, O Yahuah, among the gods? Who is like You majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders? The Word also states, "be ye holy for I Am holy" (1Peter 1:16). Holiness means being set apart, walking in His ways according to His commandments and not according to the ways of the world and the lusts of the flesh.
God is Faithful. Deuteronomy 7:9 - "Know therefore that Yahuah Elohayka, he is God, the faithful God, who guards His covenant and steadfast love with those that love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations." The exodus of the Israelites out of Egypt and settling them on the land promised to Abraham, is a good example of the faithfulness of Yah.
God is Powerful. Psalm 147:5 - "Great is our Yah, and abundant in power, his understanding is beyond measure." God has created the heavens and the earth; us and all we see around us, and He sustains it all. Let us therefore not look to man but to the Most High Father for all our needs. He is our deliver, our healer, our provider and so much more.
God loves us. Isaiah 54:10 - "For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you." Hallelujah.
God is our Judge. 2 Corinthians 5:10 - "For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil." We should therefore walk with our Yah in reverence and fear, knowing that the fear of Yah is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge of the Holy One is insight (Proverbs 9:10).
My Prayer
Father Yahuah, we worship and we praise You. Thank you that in Your greatness, You are also our Abba Father who not only bestows great mercy and blessings upon us, but who also corrects us. Father, please teach us to trust You with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding. We pray in Jesus' name. Aman.
