"You shall love Yahuah Elohayka with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind" (Matt 22:37).

To love God is to know Him. Do you know Him? Do you know His character? In Psalm 91:14 God gives us these beautiful promises, saying, "Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name". This does not mean you know His name as Yahuah, or by the many names God is known. God is referring here to those who know His nature and who know him intimately. When we fall in love we normally want to get to know the person better and we desire to spend time with them. God desires the same from us. It is only through spending time with Him and building up a relationship with Him that we will get to know Him intimately and can we 'cleave to him in love'.

In addition to prayer, the key mechanism for getting to know God is through His Word. In 2 Timothy 3:16 we read, "All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction and for training in righteousness, that the man of Yah may be complete, equipped for every good work". If you have not picked up your Bible for a while, then I would encourage you to open it today. Start by reading Psalm 23 which so beautifully describes who God is to us, "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want, he makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside still waters". Please read the rest of it and allow the sweet words of the Psalm to refresh your soul.

My Prayer

Father, thank you for the privilege of having access to Your Word that teaches us about You. Thank you that You are our Shepherd and that You know and supply our needs. Please forgive us that we do not always acknowledge the wonderful blessings we receive from You. Father, we want to know You intimately. Please guide us as we search for ourselves who You are. We pray this in the name of Holy Yahushua. Aman.
