For the next 21 days I am doing a daily post on Walking in the Commandments of Yah. I pray that you will take this journey with me. I do not claim to know all the answers, but I have found that my knowledge and faith grow as I dig into the Word and formulate my thoughts to express them in writing.

I came to the topic after reading the reply Jesus gave to the Pharisee who enquired about the great commandment in the law. In Matthew 22:37-40 Jesus said, "You shall love Yahuah Elohayka with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and the great commandment. And the second is like unto it. You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Torah (law) and the prophets." Both these commandments are about love. They instruct us who to love and how to love.

This is what Jesus told His disciples about love, "If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). And in verse 23 He states, "If a man loves me he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him".

I have come to understand that the ultimate journey for all of us through this life is to work towards becoming mature sons of Yah (Romans 8:19). The first step in the journey is to accept Jesus's gift of salvation; to repent of our sins, be cleansed by His blood shed for us on the cross; and to allow Holy Spirit to guide us away from the sins of the past into newness of life. I pray that all of us have completed this first and vital stage of the journey that opens the door for us to eternal life. The next stage of our journey is becoming mature sons of Yah, manifesting His nature. Let us follow Paul's wisdom not to consider the sufferings of this present time, but to focus on the Glory that will be revealed to us (Romans 8:18). Hallelujah!!!

My Prayer

Holy Yahushua, please lead us into a deeper understanding of the two commandments You gave us to love the Father and to love our neighbour. We love You Holy Yahushua, our Saviour, and it is our desire to honour You and to please You. Please grant us wisdom to practically apply these commandments in our lives as we live from day to day. We pray in Jesus name. Aman.

(Tomorrow I will continue to discuss what is means to love Yah.)
